Movies to Watch on Disney plus before you go to Hollywood Studios- The Essentials

You have booked your Disney World vacation, and you have a day planned at Disney's Hollywood Studios. These are essential movies to watch on Disney plus before you go to Hollywood Studios. These movie choices are based on the currently open attractions at Disney World while their experience is modified due to the current climate.

Grand Avenue

The Muppet Movie (1979) follows Kermit on his adventure from Florida to California to be an actor. On the way to Hollywood, you will meet the rest of the zany muppets who join the adventure. Once you're at Hollywood Studios, head over to Grand Avenue to Experience Muppet Vision 3D. Here Kermit will guide you on a tour of Muppet Studios. Your visit is sure to erupt in the mayhem that you saw in the movie.

Toy Story Land

In Toy Story (1995), you'll meet Andy's favorite toy, Sheriff Woody, and the rest of the toys on this adventure to get the newest toy, Buzz Lightyear, to Andy's new house. Once you are at Hollywood Studios, have a blast because Toy Story Land shrinks you to a toy's size. There you can pose with the green army men, or with a frosted cookie!

There are several attractions for the whole family in Toy Story Land. On Alien Swirling Saucers, you get to spin with the little green men. Slinky Dog takes you on a coaster adventure on Slinky Dog Dash. Finally, to really feel like a toy, Toy Story Mania takes you on a 4-D midway-style ride inside Andy's toy box.

Echo Lake and Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge

A weekend may be enough to prepare for your Star Wars visit. At Echo Lake, you can experience Star Tours®- The Adventures Continue. There you can join a tour of the galaxy but fall into a misadventure. Each ride is different, so you may see the force's dark side and run into Kyle Ren. If you're lucky, you'll see the light and experience pilot Poe Dameron or Princess Leia. With that much opportunity to meet a character from the Star Wars canon, it is essential to watch Star Wars: The Force Awakens. This film will introduce you to many of the characters that you will encounter on your star tour.

Once leave Tatooine, head over to Galaxy's Edge, immerse yourself in the atmosphere of Black Spire Outpost on Batuu. This remote planet scouted by rebel spy Vi Moradi will envelop you, and you'll want to be sure that you are ready to enjoy all this land has to offer. At a minimum, follow a young Han Solo and enjoy his adventures on the Millenium Falcon with Chewbacca in Solo: A Star Wars Story. During this film, you visit Batuu, you even learn about Dok-Andar.

Before you ride Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, watch The Clone Wars - Dooku Captured. While it is not a film, this episode of this series introduces you to pirate Hondo Ohnaka.

If you have the opportunity, watch the entire Star Wars canon, it will prepare you for the nuances of the Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. You can watch the whole Muppets and Toy Story canons as well.
